Back in college I was a huge fan of the anime music video (AMV). At that time there were a number of talented individuals - Kevin Caldwell, Hsien Lee of Kusoyaro Productions, William Millberry of Aluminum Studios, etc - putting out top quality work consistently. They matched songs to anime, and matched the action to the music. Recently I've been enjoying some anime again, but the quality of AMV I find on YouTube now is atrocious. These kids take whatever terrible rap/emo garbage is popular and just play it over footage of their favorite anime, often completely uncut and almost never effectively synched to the music. Does anyone know of any good AMV artists working today? Or even of good individual videos?
Just for fun, I thought I'd share some of my favorites from back in the day
