If you're not aware, the planet Venus is moving between Earth and the sun right now (6-5-12 ~3-10PM on the West Coast). Obviously you don't want to look directly into the sun, but if you can use binoculars or something to project it onto a smooth, flat surface (like a piece of paper), you should clearly be able to see a dot on the face of the sun. My co-workers and I did it out in the parking lot just now. Pretty cool stuff. The next one won't be until 2117, so don't delay!
